OUR HISTORY
If you've visited us in the past decade, you know that our store is in the old Hulaco Cotton Gin that was remodeled to have a second story as well as the luxury of a kitchen and bathrooms. But if you are a REALLY dedicated customer of ours, you may remember "the basement." In 1981, Shelia Kelsoe and her husband Phillip Kelsoe bought the community-famous Hulaco General Store, which was established in 1928. A year after buying the store, Shelia founded Hulaco Flowers & Trading Company in 1982 after already having several years experience in the craft industry. Naturally, she opened the flower shop in the basement of her husband's general store. After 25 years of hard work, it was finally time for Phillip to move on from his successful store to a hopefully more relaxing life. In 2004, Phillip and Shelia sold Hulaco General Store and remodeled the Hulaco Cotton Gin. Now with twice the space for gorgeous arrangements, Hulaco Flowers has grown quite a lot over years of business. Please come visit us and share your memories with us. We love to hear stories from our loyal customers!
